Share tools and information related to the daily activities carried out by the actuary in the workplace.  With the collaboration of everyone, this is an archive that will function as a precedent for condensing actuarial information. 

Books

 

Actuarial Mathematics in Spanish  

Summons to write a text book about Actuarial Mathematics. This will entitle Spanish speakers to get to know the theory and practice in selected actuarial topics in this language. Spanish speaker Actuaries worldwide are encouraged to participate to create a first class book.

 

Book Donation Program 

Because books promote and spread knowledge, we have begun this project for students and Latin American universities that have studies in actuarial science.  The promotion of actuarial reading material is an effort to spread knowledge about the profession. 

 

Actuarial Journals in Spanish

 

Argentina. Actuarial student José Luis Salvia presents his blog with news related to actuarial science in this country.

 

Colombia. Through their website, the Colombian Association of Actuaries shares some finance and pension articles as presented by some of their association members.

 

Chile. The Institute of Actuaries in Chile presents through its president Sergio Pizzagalli Smith a series of conferences “The actuary and the new model of solvency”.

 

Spain. The head of the Institute of Spanish Actuaries, Juan M. Rubio, presents another issue of the journal “ACTUARIOS”.  This journal is a collection of opinions, interviews, and summary of events that directly or indirectly influence the actuarial profession.

 

Mexico

CONAC. The president of the National Association of Actuaries in Mexico, Ángelez Yañez, presents another number of the electronic journal "Actuarios Trabajando".

 

AMA. The president of the Mexican Association of Actuaries, José Manuel Méndez Martínez presents the archive of the bulletin “Entre Actuarios”. 

 

AMAC. The president of the Mexican Association of Consulting Actuaries, Adalberto Rojas presents the archive of the journal “Revista Visión Actuarial”. 

 

 

UNAM. The School of Sciences at this university presents their Mexican Journal of Actuarial Sciences “Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Actuariales”.

Through the USA Society of Actuaries website, Steve Strommen shares a program based on Excel that contains more than a thousand mortality tables for investigative purposes.

 

Excel Tricks

Through a plug-in, the company ASAP allows users to reduce the amount of time needed to develop their spreadsheets in Excel.

 

Statistical Software

R is a statistical and graphic analysis system created by Ross Ihaka y Robert Gentleman.  It is distributed for free according to the terms of GNU (General Public License).  The files needed to install R are available on the website Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN).

In Latin America

Through its questionnaire, the International Association of Actuaries has chosen professional leaders in: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Ecuador provide a picture about the actuarial profession in these countries.

 

 

In Mexico

The United Kingdom Department of Finance and Economics shares a document about the profession in Mexico: professional profile, statistics, communities, fields, and more.
